THE SHIRT WITH NO.9 AT THE BACK

errr.... unfortunately, this is NOT the No.9 that I wore last night!

Last night's futsal game with the buddies was fun. Unlike last week, there were almost 20 of the guys attended. Last night it was only 8. Just imagine... the tiredness and laughter that we have to cope and had to `borrow' some of unknown players to make it 5 vs 5.
Obviously I wear my new jersey (got from Bangkok) with Torres's name at the back. I managed to score one goal in the 16-14 win... you must be wondering how the hell did we scored so much... well, it was through sheer joke and cunning and many-many OG (own goals). And late in the game, we just shoot it from our own half since majority of us couldn't care to run with the ball anymore... or to be specific, we had acute shortage of breath...
One thing about wearing Torres shirt is that most of the time also I ended holding the backline and at one moment, I thought I should have ordered for Hyppia or Carragher's instead !
This is also the reason why the scoreline was so high. And my other mates had to compensate and score more to win us by extra 2 goals... that's a good margin for a non-stop 1 hour game. How to have a break when the players are 5 vs 5. To walk out, means your team would be left with 4 players and there's gonna be a helluva job of catch up to do. hahaha...

PLEASE HELP ME FIND THIS TRACKSUIT...

I have been looking for this tracksuit hi & lo here in Malaysia. But apparently the adidas boutique did not dare to bring it over. Don't know why. During my visit to Singapore recently I also failed to find it along Orchard Road. Can you guys out there help me to find it? Direct order to Anfield is not economic.

According to Daily Post, Anfield made it clear to Rafa what most of LFC fans are thinking at the moment about Gareth Barry. Me, too have my doubts on the ability of Barry to deliver as good as Alonso did. hmmm...

hate politics, love football

Today in Kuala Lumpur (and the whole nation for that matter) are buzzing with a political/ crime event. The former Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been charged in the Session Court for sodomy.
Why do I include this in my blog? Just to say that I am sad and totally flabbergasted with this case. It is a repeat of what had happened a decade ago. I was a rookie writer then. Those were the trying time for all of us. And today, the scenario couldn't be worst. The economy is bleak because of the hike on oil price. The stock exchange recorded the lowest transaction and the action plan by the government seems orthodox and won't help the economy to rejuvenate. And now, the political scenes is darkened with the latest sodomy case of Anwar. I say `darkened' is because with all this war, the nation won't be able to heal fast enough.

Personally, I put on hold all of my financial planning. No LCD tv for the new season as yet. No switching car to an MPV. All the luxury must wait for now.

My colleague just came back from Bangkok. To my delight, he brought me the new LFC away jersey. The grey colour. But to my amusement is that he bought 2 shirts. One stated Gerrard, another Torres. Usually, I will avoid those shirts with name. Now I have to let go one of it. I think I'll hold on to Torres, and may be sale Gerrard. The price is 400 bath. About RM39.
oh... I forgot to tell... most of the Bangkok merchandise is a knock-off items. Do you know how much the origional kit price over here? Do your math : 50 pounds x RM7. = RM350 (you can get about RM220 in the upscale adidas boutique). and compare to RM39 for a Made in Thailand jersey? hahaha.... don't blame me. Blame the exchange rate. Blame the global economy. Blame it all.

THE ENGLAND TEAM THAT DIDN'T GET TO EURO 2008

I can't help it but to notice the weird pattern. After reading the news and compare a few things in particular the injuries to the first choice players of England squad. Rooney over in Old Trafford won't be playing in their first official competitive game due to some viruses. The same goes to Gerrard... and to think of it, did the long holidays during the summer could be the main cause of their crock when the new season is less than 6 days away? hihihi....

p/s I have use all my prize money (viva Spain!) in acquiring 1 jacket, 1 beg, 3 shirts, a mug and some small items and sponsor a friend to be a member of LSCM. Euro 2008... will be best remembered as the best football tournament I ever bet on up to now. I wonder my luck could be different if England were in. I would have put my money on them and may not win anything instead, just like the failure of World Cup in the hands of Ronaldinho....

Yes. He was brought in about 30 minutes left to full time in the 2nd half. Actually, his movement in the last night's game was not so impressive as he has shown in the Rangers game. But still he managed to score.

Notice the similarity with this photo of David Ngog and another one on the next posting below? He scored with his definitive left foot. And the two goals are almost identical, isn't it?

The game started with the most likely first 11 to start in the UCL Qualification game on August 12th. Torres & Keane at the front, Gerrard & Alonso in the middle, flanked by Kuyt on the right and Benayoun on the left. Then there's the new back in Dossena on the right, Arbeloa on the left and Carra assisted by Agger as the anchor but Reina was only brought in in the 2nd half. (The consolidation goal conceded was during his 2nd half.... hahaha)

Just after 25 minutes, Gerrard signaled to the bench those rolling-rolling hands, requesting to be taken out. A few minutes before he was seen strecthed to the limits to clear the ball from the back. I suspect he had a few knocks. The best part is that Valerenga looks as if they're trying their best to score or to inflict something onto LFC. On the other hand, LFC played their own tempo and looked relax. That's good. Everybody know that the new season is just less than a week to go. And for LFC there is another Lazio friendly game they have to run to. Lazio won't be as easy as Rangers or Valerenga. Lazio could give LFC as hard time as Villareal did.

The result is academic. But the manner it was scored is sometime for us to cherish. Two of the goals were scored by the players infamously now been persuit or linked to a move away from Anfield : Alonso & Benayoun. Both of them scored in the last game against Rangers. Alonso should stay. Same goes to Benayoun. Forget about Barry... (though I doubt it can be canceled now)...

Neither Tottenham Hotspur nor Aston Villa want to lose their best players, certainly not to the superpowers whose coat-tails they are trying to cling to, but whether they like to admit it or not – and to judge from their reactions this summer they obviously don’t – both clubs know a good deal when they see one.
