Warnock is still remembered for his playing days in Anfield. Rafa seems to trust more his own countrymen for that position and Warnock knows he has to leave to play more, instead of sitting on the bench. 
aaa... Gerrard opening goal is a classic. Blackburn's defenders made a wall for him and when it seems that Samba standing would be the end of the run, Gerrard manouvre a trick and managed to out-run the two tall defenders before defeating the keeper.
