Mancini: Inter need luck to overcome Liverpool

Inter Milan coach Robert Mancini admits his side have to get everything right on Tuesday night if they are to overcome Liverpool in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Inter need to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg, but after seeing Liverpool put three past Newcastle today while his side struggled to beat Serie A minnows Reggina, Mancini knows it must be a "special" night for his side to progress.
"It is going to have to be one of those nights when everything goes well," he said.
"We have to play the game with our head and not allow them to settle, then the fans can try to give us a hand."
Mancini revealed the chances of seeing Hernan Crespo recover from a thigh strain are slim.
"Crespo is going to struggle to make it," revealed Mancini. "He took a knock to the head and a blow to the thigh, and it is the latter which looks worse.
"We will have to see how he looks in the next few days."
On Tuesday, Mancini needs a similar outcome to the 2-0 win over Reggina to give his side a chance of glory, but he is already preparing for disappointment.
"Liverpool start with an advantage," he told PA Sport. "I have a great team and that remains the case even if we lose - and you do lose now and again.
"Liverpool have been able to get lots of players fit, but we have not.
"We are not in an excellent condition overall. Tuesday has got to be a special evening."
Just one goal for the Reds would require Inter to score four, leaving Mancini with a tactical decision to make: defend and wait for chances on the break, or launch an immediate assault for goals.
"It's not ideal to play with our heads down," he admitted. "We have just got to do as we always have, but it is going to be a difficult game as we have to come from behind.
"We are going to have to concentrate, and then we will just see what happens."
