Yossi Benayoun is joining Chelsea

According to news reports, which I tend to believe is genuine - Yossi has decided to depart and join Chelsea, for money and glory. We wish him luck and may his butt won't get stiff with all the many hours he will be spending on the bench.

Yes, we the Liverpool fans find this news as disheartening to the most. It's inevitable. We lost the chances to play in the Champions League. Sat awkwardly at no.7 and all the juices and the attraction for top players to join Liverpool are all but diminished now. Lets hope Torres will stay. hmm...

I don't think Yossi will sit on the bench AT ALL. Joe Cole, Deco, and Ballack are all leaving.

That's a lot of minutes in the midfield open for Yossi to take over.

He will play as much as he did under Rafa - start 5 or 6 in a row, then off the bench 3 or 4 in a row, etc. Similar squad player status and if injuries hit Chelsea, he will be a nailed on starter.

GReat player. Great guy. Liverpool will miss him.
